Rothwell Town 3 - 0 Aylesbury United

Rothwell got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Aylesbury United, a result which lifts the Bones into fourth place and a play-off position.

The first half saw the away team come at Rothwell and put them under pressure for the first 15 minutes, but the Bones held firm throughout this period. Then midway through the half, a great move down the right resulted in a cross from Michael Tolton which Danny Nicholls hammered into the net. Ten minutes later a free-kick awarded on the left was floated in by Martin Flannigan and Darren Lynch headed home his eighth goal in Rothwell colours.

The second half began much as the first had, with Aylesbury coming straight out of the blocks to put the Bones under pressure but midway through the half, from a corner, Adam Sturgess hammered the ball home. Rothwell then hit the post, as did Aylesbury, but from then on the game peetered out somewhat and Rothwell secured the three points to put them into the playoff places.
