Rothwell Town 3 - 3 Great Wakering Rovers

Justin Jenkins made an instant impact on his debut for Rothwell Town - scoring a hat-trick in their 3-3 draw with Great Wakering Rovers. Jenkins, on loan from Ilkeston for a month, had not even trained with his new team-mates prior to the game.

Jenkins showed his intent from the start and had a couple of efforts saved before Andy Almond crossed for him to head home his first. He doubled his tally just before the break following a great move involving Almond and Robert Ritchie-Smith. Neil Richmond and Joel Etienne-Clark pounced on lapses in the Bones defence in the second half to draw level before Jenkins completed his hat-trick and reclaimed the lead for Rothwell.

Then came the equaliser from the penalty spot. The spot-kick was given following a shot which rebounded out and struck Michael Boyle-Chong on the knee before deflecting up and hitting his hand. Boyle-Chong received a straight red card, for 'deliberate handball' and Steve Butterworth converted to tie the game. Jenkins squandered a fine opportunity to snatch a winner with 5 minutes remaining but his header went over the bar. An impressive debut from Jenkins, hopefully a sign of things to come from him.
