Rothwell Town 0 - 0 Aveley

Manager Dave Williams was searching for positives after Saturday's goal-less draw at home to Aveley. Williams said: "I'm disappointed because we should be beating teams like this. But there weren't many opportunities in the game - neither side created much so I'd say a draw was about right. I'm happy that we have kept a clean sheet, but that is the only positive thing to take from the game. "

In a dominant first half for the hosts, Martin Flannigan saw a header go wide while Paul Rice had an effort cleared off the line by Steve Pashley. Further chances fell to Michael Boyle-Chong and Liam Morris, before te game was interrupted by an injury to Aveley's Andrew Purcell, who was later confirmed to have suffered a broken ankle.

Tom Smith pulled off a top-draw save in the second hlaf to deny Bradley Barnes while Pashley went close with a header. But - like Rothwell in the first half - the visitors enjoyed most of the posession without being able to convert it into goals. Substitute Andy Almond made a late break for the hosts but his effort was saved.
