Boss Jackson's proud of the character shown by Bones

Rothwell Town v Cinderford Town

Saturday 22nd September k.o. 3pm

Rothwell Town return to league action this weekend with boss Ian Jackson wanting more of the character they showed in the FA Cup in midweek. The Bones suffered the agony of losing a penalty shoot-out in their first qualifying round replay at Enfield Town on Tuesday night after a fighting performance that saw them twice come from behind.

Jackson admitted to feeeling proud of his side's performance – but stressed that they needed to carry that form into the league where they have slipped down the table after a strong start to the season.

"We need to start putting some points on the board and, if we show the same character and attitude we did at Enfield – who are a good team – then it will make my job at lot easier this season," he said.

Cinderford arrive at Cecil Street lying below Rothwell. Like the Bones, they have faded after a promising beginning that saw them take four points from their first two games.

Since then, the Foresters have lost twice in the league and also gone out in an FA Cup replay on Tuesday night – 2-1 at Premier Division side Cirencester Town.

"Cinderford are a very strange team. They are either very good or very average," added Jackson."

"However, our home form has been very good over the last two seasons and we've not lost there yet this season – so I'm looking for that to continue."

One boost for the Bones was that they came through Tuesday's tie with a clean bill of health, despite them having to go through extra-time, and Jackson names an unchanged squad for tomorrow's game.

Rothwell from: Smith, Challinor, Brown, Sturgess, Greasley, Flannigan, Sneddon, Purton, Boyle-Chong, March, Byrne, Stead, Bridgeford, Koriya, Richie-Smith, Hyem, Tolton.
