Rothwell Town 0 - 3 Dunstable Town

Ian Jackson has called on his players to "grow up and take responsibility for themselves and each other" after what he described as an "embarrassing" defeat to Dunstable at Cecil Street.

The Bones looked in control in the first half and limited their visitors to just one attempt on goal which Tom Smith saved comfortably.

Scott Cross and Ian Cooper both looked a threat for the hosts. But the game remained at a stalemate at half-time.

However, a second half collapse by the hosts allowed Dunstable to take the initiative and wrap up the points by scoring on the hour and then twice more in the last five minutes.

Dan Picknell opened the scoring and Aaron Flood struck a two-minute brace to seal the points for the visitors.

Jackson said: "In the first half we looked good and at half-time I thought we would go on and win the game.

"But the second half was a different story. It was the worst performance I have seen since I've been at the club. It was not nice to be involved in and I can only apologise to the supporters who were watching.

"Once they scored we went from bad to worse and their two lat e goals were down to basic errors by people who shouldn't be making them. We were awful and deserved to lose. It has been a long time since I have been able to say that.

"All the lads were gutted and disappointed afterwards by what they hadn't done and we need to start putting it right quickly.

"If players aren't willing to produce the goods then I will get new ones in. I take full responsibility and will back the players to the hilt because I know the ability is there. But it's not just about having the ability. You've got to show it as well."

"The lads have got to take responsibility for themselves, stop feeling sorry for themselves, have some belief in their ability and get on with turning this season around.

"We're all in this together and I will be expecting a different attitude when we host Rushall Olympic tomorrow night because this simply wasn't good enough."
