Bedworth United 1 - 0 Rothwell Town

Rothwell Town's goalscoring problems continued as they slipped to defeat at Bedworth.

Defensive errors by two or three Bones players led to the hosts scoring what proved to be the winning goal after only two minutes. And despite Rothwell creating several chances to level in the first half, they failed to hit the back of the net.

Scott Cross, Pete Sneddon, Jon Stead, Fazel Koriya and Steve Purton all squandered chances to equalise.

Rothwell manager Ian Jackson admitted his side's lack of firepower is a problem. He said: "We just need to start scoring goals - everything else is fine. Defensively we look good - Tom Smith only had two saves to make all game."

"I've said for a while that we're so close but it's the goals we're lacking. We've got two training sessions this week so we'll be working hard to try and sort it out."

"The lads were disappointed with missing so many chances on Saturday and that's the reaction I need because it shows there's more to come. If they weren't bothered that's when I would need to worry."

"I got the reaction I asked for last week from the players so I'm happy with that and we looked the better side by a street. Now we just need to start scoring goals."
