Rothwell
Town 0 - 6 Rushall Olympic
The Bones went down 6-0 last night
in a game to forget at Cecil Street.
Rushall went ahead after 20 seconds,
when a long ball from the kick-off caused panic in the Rothwell
defence and Richard Beale prodded home.
Things got worse for the Bones on
six minutes when Andreas Kattus brought down Junior Brown in the
box and, being the last man, received his second rec card of the
season.
Tom Smith gave Rothwell some hope
when he saved Paul McMahon's penalty but he, and everyone else,
was caught out by Beale's 32nd-minute corner which swirled into
the net on the wind.
Two-down at half-time might have given
the Bones some hope to come back after the break, but two minutes
before the end of the first half, a free-kick wasn't cleared and
Ian Cooper drilled home a decisive third for the Pics.
The second half goals were a while
coming but eventually Steve Purton tripped McMahon in the box on
79 minutes to concede the night's second penalty. McMahon handed
over spot-kick duties to Beale who duly completed his hat-trick
and then smashed home a superb fifth of the night a minute later
from 25 yards.
Purton sent a rare shot just over
for the Bones before Brown completed Rushall's scoring with a close-range
header in the last minute.
