Rothwell Town v Brackley Town

Match OFF - Waterlogged pitch

Tuesday 5th February - k/o 7.45pm

Rothwell Town have a chance to put their league battles to one side tonight when they take on fellow BGB Southern League side Brackley Town in the semi-final of the NFA Hillier Senior Cup at Cecil Street.

The Bones have endured a tough season in Division One Midlands but go into the game in good spirits after Ben Greasley's spectacular overhead kick earned them a last-gasp 1-1 draw with Romulus on Saturday.

They face a tough test against a Brackley side still in play-off contention in the Premier Division despite being on the receiving end of a last-minute leveller in their 2-2 draw with Yate Town at the weekend.

The Saints also boast several local connections including former Rushden & Diamonds man Dave Savage and ex-Kettering Town midfielder Jamie Kearns.

"It's a cup tie and we've got absolutely nothing to lose so we can go out there and give it a real good go with the pressure off us because no-one will expect us to get near Brackley," said Bones boss Ian Jackson.

"That said, you never know what sort of side they are going to put out and we have a chance to build some momentum with another good performance.

"I thought the effort was excellent against Romulus – especially as we so many youngsters in the side."

Rothwell have Adam Bridgeford and Michael Tolton back. But Scott Goodwin (foot) is a doubt.

Rothwell from: Smith, Bridgeford, Tolton, Goodwin, Greasley, Rice, Kattus, Flannigan, Purton, Boyle-Chong, Richie-Smith, McInally, Stead, Cross, Boath, Keddy, Grant
