Willenhall
Town v Rothwell Town
British Gas Business
League Division One Midlands
Saturday 8th March -
k/o 3pm
ROTHWELL TOWN face another of their
bottom-six rivals tomorrow when they travel Willenhall Town in BGB
Southern League Division One Midlands.
At first glance this would appear
to be a game between two closely-matched sides given that the pair
are only two places apart in the league table. However, appearances
are deceptive as the Lockmen are, in fact, 12 points better off
than Rothwell and it would be more had they not had three deducted
for fielding an ineligible player.
The Bones themselves are now nine
points adrift of the main pack after losing at Romulus last week
and remain heading their own mini-league with Malvern Town and Berkhamstead
Town in the bottom three.
Boss Ian Jackson feels his side will take something
from their trip to Noose Lane and stressed that the gap between
them and Willenhall is not as big as it would appear.
"I'm going there full of confidence because
we are no way that far behind them and they're certainly not pulling
up any trees at the moment," he said. "Whatever we do
there it's not going to affect our league position – so if
we win, we win and if we lose, we lose.
"I'm very happy with how we're
playing right now. How we lost to Romulus last weekend I'll never
know because we smashed them off the park. But their keeper made
a couple of good saves and we didn't take our chances."
The first game between Rothwell and Willenhall
this season, a 1-1 draw back in October, was notable for the fact
it was played at Kettering Town's A-Line Arena due to floodlight
problems at Cecil Street.
Since then the Lockmen have struggled with
a 1-0 success over FA Cup heroes Chasetown last month being their
first win of 2008 and only their second in the last 10.
Rothwell, meantime, have only won twice in
the league since that draw at Kettering and New Year's Day remains
the last time they took three points from a game.
Paul Rice is also back as Rothwell field a
fully-fit squad.
Rothwell from: Baker, Greasley, Hurst, Flannigan,
Rice, Bridgeford, McInally, Stead, Boyle-Chong, Cross, Purton, Boath,
Koriya, Cunnington, Thompson, Tolton, Capps, Grant.
