Rothwell Town 2 - 0 Bedworth United

British Gas Business League Division One Midlands

Saturday 26th April - k/o 3pm

Rothwell Town finished the season with a third victory in a row - the first time this campaign that such a run had been achieved.

Following on from away wins at Woodford United (0-2) and Malvern Town (0-1), the Bones capped off the run by beating Bedworth United 2-0 at Cecil Street, in their final game of the 2007-2008 season.

Both goals came early on, with Adam Cunnington opening the scoring after just 5 minutes when he fired home powerfully a cross from Chris Difante from 10 yards out. T

Then Steve Purton doubled the lead in the 12th minute when he picked up the ball out on the wide left, carried it forward, cut inside and hit a screamer of a shot from 30 yards which flew past Andrew Kemp and into the top of the net. It looked as if Rothwell might add to their lead but the third goal never came, but that didn't matter as the Bones secured the win which ensured this difficult season ended on a high note.

An attendance of 116 were there to witness the game, which gives Rothwell a finishing position of 18th in the British Gas Business Division One Midlands league.
