Leighton Town 1 - 2 Rothwell Town

The Bones chalked up their first victory of the season at Leighton Town and it was Justin Jenkins who opened the scoring for the second game in a row. Rothwell were awarded a penalty in the 5th minute after the referee spotted a push in the box, and Jenkins put it away to set the Bones on their way.

In the 36th minute, some poor Leighton defending led to Martin Flannigan extending the lead to 2-0 to take Rothwell into the break in a comfortable position. Leighton Town pulled one back nine minutes into the second half through Leon Gordon, who finished well after some skilful play.

It was a keenly contested game with the second half bringing an increase in play from Leighton but the Rothwell back-line held strong and deserved the victory in the end.
