Hadleigh Utd 2 - 3 Rothwell Town

Rothwell marched on today in their first taste of FA Cup action for the season, away at Hadleigh United. The teams went into the half time break with the score level at 0-0. It was the Bones who drew first blood when Mickey Tolton drove the ball in from 15 yeards through a crowded penalty area on 61 minutes.

They extended their lead to 2-0 in the 75th minute when Jamie Wright crossed in and top scorer Justin Jenkins headed home to contine his run of scoring in every game this season. Hadleigh pegged one back on around 80 minutes but with just a minute of normal time remaining, Chris Difante broke through and struck an excellent finish to put Rothwell 3-1 up. Hadleigh still had time to pull the score back to 3-2 in injury time but The Bones held on for the win.

Rothwell will now face Long Buckby away in the next round, on Sat 16th September.
