Rothwell Town 2 - 0 Solihull Borough

Alan Biley's first game in charge of the Bones has ended in a very satisfying 2-0 home victory without much of a Halloween scare or fright from Solihull Borough.

Rothwell dominated proceedings in the first half and broke the deadlock half way through the half when Justin Jenkins got on the end of a cross-field ball from Jamie Wright and slotted home from close range. Martin Flannigan hit the post from 6 yards with a poked shot, and Michael Boyle-Chong hit a 25 yard rasper which also came back off a post.

In the second half the Bones played some very good football. They broke through again and split the Solihull defence wide open, Chris Difante raced away, hit a shot which the keeper parried then followed up the rebound to slot home. 2-0.

The chances continued to come for Rothwell, with Difante having another good chance which he screwed wide while Paul Rice saw his header cleared off the line. With a 4-4-2 formation and the Bones defending very well, chance after chance was produced. All in all a pleasing victory for the new man in charge. A few tricks and plenty treats - the Rothwell revolution starts here!
