Chasetown 3 - 1 Rothwell Town

On the back of a good win at Aylesbury at the weekend Rothwell put in a disappointing performance at Chasetown, resulting in a 3-1 defeat.

The first half saw the Bones' pedestrian defence exposed on numerous occasions by a pacey Chasetown attack and three goals resulted. It was not just the defence to blame as both midfield and attack struggled to make any impact on the game.

The second half saw a change of personnel which improved the Bones defensively but a lack of creativity out wide and upfront meant Rothwell couldn't get back in the game. A defensive error late in the game gave Justin Jenkins the simplest of tap-ins to reduce the scoreline to 3-1 but by now the game was over.

A lot of thinking needs to be done before Saturday's game at home to Bromsgrove Rovers as to whether changes in personnel need to be made.
