Sutton Coldfield 3 - 2 Rothwell Town

Rothwell Town endured a frustrating afternoon at Sutton Coldfield with goals and incidents aplenty but the Bones ultimately came away with a defeat.

Justin Jenkins had given the visitors the lead after 11 minutes when Ricky Miller won a free-kick on the right and Jenkins guided the ball home. At half-time an injury to the referee meant he had to be replaced by the linesman, who in turn was replaced by Sutton Coldfield president Bernard Bent, who officiated over the home side's front line.

Around an hour into the game Sutton Coldfield pulled level with a goal from a Paul Devlin quick free-kick. And the home side were in front eight minutes later when Nathan Moran came from what looked like an offside position before providing the last touch.

Rothwell, now playing with ten men after Jenkins was dismissed for leading with an elbow, hauled themselves back into the game when debutant Richard Smith equalised with five minutes to go. But just a minute later Matthew Dodd raced in to score for the hosts and snatch a point from Rothwell's grasp.
