Rob Dunion says his Rothwell Town side are "still in the fight" - despite seeing them slip into the Division One Midlands relegation places with just two games to go.

With this defeat at Bromsgrove, and other results not going in their favour, the Bones are now teetering on the brink of relegation into the United Counties League.

Dunion said: "We've absolutely blasted a team and should have beaten them well and truly.

"But decisions have gone against us - it happens every week - you just have to accept it.

"I feel sorry for the guys because that performance was definitely worthy of a win.

"But we're still in the fight and can take a lot from this performance into our final two games."

It was a brace of headed goals from tall striker Jemiah Richards that ultimately condemned Rothwell to this defeat.

He scored his first nine minutes before the break. A mistake by Danny Marlow led to a Cameron Jones cross from the right and this was met by the head of Richards who made no mistake from six yards.

Rothwell rallied and were back on terms just after the break.

Young Kyle Locklin fired home into the bottom corner, giving Carl Lewis no chance in the home goal.

The Bones pushed for a winner but Bromsgrove found the killer goal with just four minutes left on the clock - Richards again deflecting the ball past Stuart Dorrill.

It was not for lack of effort that Rothwell lost this one.

Two games at Cecil Street now await the Bones in their fight for survival - tomorrow night against promotion hopefuls Nuneaton and the second against Stourport Swifts on Saturday.
