Dunstable Town 3 - 2 Rothwell Town

The Rothwell Town players have only themselves to blame for this defeat in Bedfordhsire.

On a pitch which, to put it mildly, was an utter and complete disgrace for football at this level, having had two midweek matches played on it and no attempt to repair any damage the game in fact should not have been played.

But then Rothwell attempted to play football on it whereas Dunstable just knocked long balls all over the pitch.

The Bones took the lead in the 12th minute when a good move down the right by Fazel Koriya and Shaun Goodall finished with Kevin Byrne tapping home from three yards.

The home side drew level just past the half-hour mark when they were presented with a penalty by Mr Knowles after Stuart Strange tripped over a divot in the area. Nick Nolan stepped up to score from the spot.

However, playing against a strong breeze, the Bones still pressed forward and there were chances for Goodall and Michael Boyle-Chong to put them ahead.

In the 65th minute, the Bones were themselves given a penalty when Jonathan Barnett brought down Kyle Locklin and David Glass converted.

Dunstable pressed and, with 15 minutes to go, Jamie Cole had a run on the right and he squared to Russell Clark who fired home from 20 yards.

A draw looked the only result until an identical move by Cole in stoppage-time saw him square again to Stuart Sinclair who slotted in.

Rothwell must now and try to recover when they travel to Stourport Swifts tomorrow night.
